The Place

The Moosehorn Lodge is located in south central Alaska, ca. 70 miles by plane from Anchorage. This distance can be covered in approximately 50 minutes by pontoon plane. The Lodge lies on the bank of the beautiful Seven Mile Lake, which can only be reached by pontoon plane.

The Moosehorn Lodge is totally isolated, far from the nearest road system, not on a river together with other lodges, and is therefore not exposed to all the air traffic and boat noise day and night. Our neighbor is undisturbed nature with plenty of wild animals and bounteous vegetation.

Lodge

In the Lodge's main building, amidst the cabins, you will find the kitchen, the dining room with a large table for 12-13 guests and a rustic fireplace room with fishing and hunting trophies from earlier conquests for a cozy evening of togetherness.

On the southern front side of the building ,one has a magnificent view of the lake through the large windows. It is not seldom that one can observe bears, elks, beavers, otters, porcupines and bald eagles.

Accommodations

Our guests stay either in the main lodge or in one of two separate cabins. On the first floor of the main lodge there is a roomy bedroom for four, including bath/toilet/shower.
Cabin I has 2 double rooms for couples with separate bath/toilet/shower.
Cabin II has a roomy bedroom for 4, a living room with table and sofa and separate bath/toilet/shower.

Our Lodge and cabins are modernly equipped(with rugs, etc.)and offer a spectacular view of the lake. The Lodge and cabins are also equipped with propane gas heating (regulated by thermostat).

Meals

My wife, Lynne, the Lodge's chef, takes much time and care in the planning and preparation of the meals.

On the menu you will find such main courses as New York steak, salmon, turkey and filet mignon. Our bread and vegetables are flown in fresh twice a week.
Our guests begin the day with a continental breakfast with real farmer's bread, cheese etc.
We take a picnic lunch with us for our midday meal. Whenever possible, we also grill on the riverbank.
